True North Copper Confirms Broad Aquila Copper System at Mt Oxide
True North Copper (ASX: TNC) has reported new drilling results from the Aquila Copper-Cobalt-Silver Discovery at its Mt Oxide Project in north-west Queensland, with the standout intercept of 6m at 5.70% copper from 295m confirming that high-grade mineralisation extends materially deeper than previously established. Three new Reverse Circulation (RC) holes have extended the northern high-grade shoot by approximately 100m, from roughly 200m to 300m below surface, and the system remains open at depth.
For investors following ASX copper exploration stocks, the key point in the announcement is not only the grade, but the growing evidence of continuity, thickness and scale. The latest holes sit within an interpreted 250m-long northern high-grade shoot, whilst the broader Aquila mineralised system is described by the company as extending for approximately 1.8km along strike.
The report outlined three new holes — MOXRC26_008, MOXRC26_009 and MOXRC26_010 — all drilled within the northern shoot. Each intersected broad copper-cobalt-silver mineralisation with higher-grade zones inside wider intervals.

The deepest and most attention-grabbing result came from MOXRC26_010, which tested down-dip continuity below earlier hole MOX252. The hole entered a broad mineralised zone from 185m to 306m, with the strongest grades concentrated between 286m and 302m.
That matters because it supports the view that the Aquila system is not confined to shallow mineralisation. Furthermore, it indicates that the higher-grade core may continue below the current drilling envelope.
In exploration reporting, the phrase "open at depth" is often used, but it carries specific meaning. It means mineralisation has been intersected at the deepest points drilled so far, and the current drilling has not yet found the lower limit of the system.

Beyond the headline grades, each of the three holes served a distinct technical purpose in the programme.
MOXRC26_008 was drilled to confirm continuity between earlier holes MOX252 and MOX263. In addition, it extended the main Aquila-style mineralisation about 10m along strike to the south of MOX263 and returned one of the stronger cobalt intervals in the release, including 7m at 1.39% Cu and 0.79% Co from 74m.
MOXRC26_009 was aimed at testing continuity between MOX265 to the north and MOX263 to the south. The company confirmed the hole successfully intersected broad mineralisation approximately 25m north of MOX263 and 40m south of MOX265, with a key result of 61m at 0.86% Cu, 0.08% Co and 3.5g/t Ag from 159m.
MOXRC26_010 tested down-dip continuity beneath MOX252, which had previously returned 72m at 0.55% Cu, 0.16% Co and 5.6g/t Ag from 124m. This hole extended mineralisation by more than 100m down dip, with the strongest copper sulphides recorded in the deeper high-grade interval.
The announcement also described the mineralisation as part of a broad stockwork to sheeted vein hydrothermal system — a large rock volume cut by many mineralised fractures and veins rather than one narrow ore vein. Systems of this type can support both broad lower-grade zones and more concentrated high-grade sections.
The latest update fits into a larger sequence of drill results that has steadily expanded Aquila since its initial discovery. According to the company's prior ASX releases referenced in the announcement:
That progression is relevant because a discovery generally gains credibility when successive drilling campaigns continue to add strike, depth or confidence in geometry. Drilling has now tested approximately 750m of strike at Aquila, whilst the wider mineralised system extends for about 1.8km, leaving substantial strike still to assess.
The report made clear that these results are only part of the 2026 drilling pipeline. Further assay results are pending from additional Aquila holes as well as nearby targets.

Aquila remains an exploration story rather than a defined resource. However, the company's existing Mt Oxide and Cloncurry inventories provide important additional context, as Aquila is being advanced within a company that already has development-stage assets and an established regional presence.
Location is also relevant. True North noted that Mt Oxide sits approximately 100km north of the Glencore copper smelter at Mount Isa and about 20km north of 29Metals' Capricorn Copper Mine, placing the project within an existing mining district with access to regional infrastructure.
The latest Aquila results add three material points to the investment discussion around True North Copper.
First, grade remains strong, with the deepest hole returning the best high-grade copper interval in this release. Second, continuity is improving, particularly between previously drilled sections in the northern shoot.
