Importantly, this is not new drilling. The discovery stems from a 2026 review of archived 2019–2020 assay data where the full rare earth element (REE) suite was extracted from laboratory archives. Empire extracted the data from laboratory archives rather than putting a drill rig in the ground, making this an exceptionally low-cost early-stage finding.

Rare earth oxides (REOs) are a group of metallic elements used in high-technology manufacturing. Within that group, the magnetic rare earth oxides (MREOs) carry the greatest commercial demand. These include neodymium (Nd), praseodymium (Pr), dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb), all of which are essential inputs for permanent magnets used in electric vehicle motors, wind turbines and defence applications.
What distinguishes Yuinmery’s emerging REO story is the mineralogy. The REOs here occur in phosphate minerals such as monazite, xenotime, rhabdophane and churchite varieties. These minerals respond to froth flotation beneficiation, a process that physically separates and upgrades ore into a high-grade concentrate. This is distinct from ionic clay deposits, which typically require leaching and precipitation of low-grade ores.
The commercial significance of froth flotation is illustrated by a nearby peer. Victory Metals (ASX: VTM) reported that pilot plant test work at their North Stanmore HRE Project near Cue delivered a 59x ore upgrade, moving from 1,195ppm TREOY raw feed to approximately 7.09% TREOY concentrate. Two distinct data sets inform the picture: historic results from 2020 assaying conducted on YT01 samples, and newly extracted archived data from 2019 AC and RC drilling across YT01, YT19 and YT02. Neither data set represents new drilling; both involve the extraction of archived data from historical assay work.
From the historic 2020 results, the standout intercept is hole YRC20-15, which returned 3,147ppm TREO+Y over 1m at 152–153m depth. Other notable historic intercepts include YRC20-28 (2,864ppm over 1m) and YRC20-14 (1,905ppm over 1m).
