Xpedra Hits 64m at 1.34g/t Gold in Deepest Drilling Yet as Deposit Stays Open
Xpedra’s deepest drilling yet confirms depth extensions at Springfield Gold Deposit
Xpedra Resources (ASX:XPD) has returned some of its best intersections to date from the four deepest holes drilled at the Springfield Gold Deposit in NSW’s Lachlan Fold Belt. The deposit now shows broad, continuous mineralisation over 400m of strike, remaining completely open at depth and along strike. Standout figures include 64m @ 1.34g/t Au from 140m (SFRC030) and 27m @ 1.50g/t Au from 140m (SFRC031). These deep results materially increase the known depth extent of the deposit and add evidence of scale potential — the core investment driver for an early-stage explorer.

Standout results from the four deepest holes
The second-phase drilling program comprised four holes for 892m (SFRC028–SFRC031) — the deepest holes drilled to date at Springfield. Significantly, all four step-out holes hit gold mineralisation, with three of four returning intervals above 5g/t Au.
| Hole ID | Intercept (m) | Grade (g/t Au) | From (m) | Included High-Grade Zone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SFRC030 | 64 | 1.34 | 140 | 21m @ 2.41g/t from 167m; incl. 10m @ 3.68g/t from 176m |
| SFRC030 | 5 | 6.58 | 108 | — |
| SFRC031 | 27 | 1.50 | 140 | 6m @ 3.68g/t from 142m |
| SFRC029 | 16 | 1.24 | 197 | 8m @ 2.08g/t from 197m |
The down-dip continuity story is compelling. SFRC030 sits immediately down-dip of SFRC011 (55m @ 1.32g/t from surface), while SFRC031 sits down-dip of SFRC004 (52m @ 1.35g/t from 20m) and SFRC005. Grade and width holding up at depth de-risks the scale thesis.
Scott Funston, Managing Director
“We are very pleased to report on assays from the four deepest holes we have drilled to date at Springfield. Importantly, these holes intersected some of the best mineralisation returned from the project to date. Hole SFRC030 intersected 64m @ 1.34g/t Au from 140m; and SFRC031 returned 27m @ 1.50g/t Au from 140m.
“These results are highly complementary to those returned from one of our previously deepest holes, SFRC025, which intersected 94m @ 2.0g/t Au from 80m, including 13m @ 10.2 g/t Au from 81m.
“These latest results significantly increase the known depth extent of the Springfield Gold Deposit and demonstrate excellent down-dip continuity of mineralisation, adding further evidence of the Deposit’s scale potential.
“Very robust shallow mineralisation has now been delineated continuously over at least 400m of strike, with the system remaining completely open at depth and along strike. The next phase of drilling will be a concerted program targeting both deeper extensions and further strike growth along the completely undrilled 1.1km northern continuation of the highly prospective mineralised monzodiorite intrusion, where extensive shallow gold and arsenic anomalism has been identified.”
A robust system taking shape across 400m of strike
Assays have now been received for all 31 holes drilled in Xpedra’s first and second-phase programs. The bigger picture is clear:
- Continuous shallow, broad mineralisation over 400m+ of strike with multiple high-grade zones
- Excellent continuity from surface to at least 150m down-dip
- Open at depth and along strike in both directions
Standout prior maiden-program results reinforce the quality of the system:
- 94m @ 2.00g/t from 80m incl. 13m @ 10.21g/t from 81m (SFRC025)
- 44m @ 2.03g/t from 1m incl. 7m @ 4.04g/t from 1m and 12m @ 3.46g/t from 25m (SFRC018)
- 24m @ 2.97g/t from surface incl. 15m @ 4.27g/t from surface and 8m @ 6.71g/t from surface (SFRC017)
Understanding the Springfield opportunity
The Springfield Gold Deposit is hosted in a mineralised monzodiorite intrusion mapped over 1,700m of strike — consistent with mesothermal vein-style gold typical of the Lachlan Fold Belt. Mesothermal vein-style gold refers to gold mineralisation formed at mid-range temperatures and depths, typically hosted in quartz veins within competent host rocks.
When a deposit is described as “open at depth and along strike,” it signals the mineralised system could keep growing with more drilling. This is where leverage to the drill bit sits for shareholders. Arsenic acts as a pathfinder element for gold — elevated arsenic assays in shallow drilling often indicate gold mineralisation at depth.
The project saw only limited historical drilling — 186 holes averaging 35m depth — with no drilling between 1999 and Xpedra’s 2025 acquisition. Depth and northern strike are largely untested. Under-explored plus open system equals leverage to the drill bit.
The untested 1.1km northern strike extension
Historical shallow air-core drilling defined strong gold and arsenic anomalies extending 1.1km north of the northernmost hole (SFRC022: 11m @ 2.03g/t from 52m & 5m @ 3.30g/t from 85m). Shallow historical hits that ended in mineralisation include:
- 2m @ 1.43g/t from 13m (SRC033)
- 1m @ 0.51g/t from 4m to EOH (SRC066)
- 1m @ 1.12g/t from 10m to EOH (SRC067)
This depth potential has never been drill-tested — a clear, defined target.

What’s next: third-phase drilling and funding
The third-phase program targets three key areas:
- The completely undrilled 1.1km northern continuation of the intrusion
- Down-dip extensions beneath the 400m strike drilled to date
- Strike and depth extensions of high-grade hits including 13m @ 10.21g/t from 81m
A permit application will be submitted in the coming days. Drilling is expected to commence once requisite permits are received. Xpedra held $3.1 million cash at the end of the June Quarter, funding both the in-progress soil geochemistry program and the next drilling phase.
The investment thesis: an under-explored, growing gold system with defined near-term catalysts and funding in place.
