Resouro Lodges Mining Concession to Convert Novo Mundo Trial Mine to Full Production
Resouro moves Novo Mundo toward long-term production with Mining Concession Application
Resouro Strategic Metals (TSXV: RSM, ASX: RAU, OTCQB: RSGOF, FSE: 8TX), through wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary Ison do Brasil Mineração Ltda., lodged the Mining Concession Application (Requerimento de Lavra) for ANM Process No. 866.035/2009 on 16 July 2026. The application covers the Novo Mundo Gold Project in Mato Grosso, Brazil, within the Alta Floresta Gold Province. This regulatory filing represents the next stage toward converting the existing trial mining operation into a fully licensed, long-term producing asset once granted. The area covered by ANM Process No. 866.035/2009 comprises around 930 hectares and is the subject of a trial mining operation being conducted under a Guia de Utilização, pursuant to the previously announced Binding Mining and Processing Agreement for Novo Mundo.

Why the Mining Concession Application matters
Lodging the application marks the next stage in the ANM licensing process for Novo Mundo. Once granted, the concession will authorise long-term commercial mining of the area, converting the current trial mining operation into a fully licensed production asset. This strategic progression from trial mining to concession application positions Resouro closer to establishing Novo Mundo as a cash-generating operation. The filing reinforces the company’s position as a growing gold developer in one of Brazil’s prolific gold-producing regions, the Alta Floresta Gold Province.
Christopher Eager, Chief Executive Officer
“Lodging of the Mining Concession Application is a key regulatory step toward converting our trial mining operation at Novo Mundo into a fully licensed, long-term producing asset. It reflects the steady execution of our permitting strategy in the Alta Floresta Gold Province and moves us closer to establishing Novo Mundo as a sustainable cash generator for Resouro.”
Understanding Brazil’s mining permitting pathway
Brazil’s National Mining Agency (ANM) administers a structured licensing progression for mining projects. A Guia de Utilização permits trial mining on a temporary basis, allowing operators to test processing methods and validate operational assumptions. A granted Mining Concession (Requerimento de Lavra) authorises long-term commercial production. For investors, this permitting sequence de-risks the path to commercial production and underpins the company’s ability to generate future cash flow. Resouro’s concession is applied for, not yet granted. Once approved, the concession will enable sustained mining activity across the 930-hectare area.
A busy 2026 of exploration and development progress
Resouro has systematically advanced Novo Mundo during 2026 across exploration, permitting and trial mining. The project benefits from a substantial historical exploration base compiled by Rio Tinto Zinco (RTZ), RJK Resources (RJK), Graben Mineração (GMS) and Nexa Resources (Nexa), comprising geological mapping, geophysical surveys, geochemical sampling and diamond drilling. An Independent Technical Report prepared by GE21 Consultoria Mineral in support of the company’s ASX listing concluded that the project hosts multiple porphyry–epithermal gold targets. Two diamond drill holes completed at the Mineiro target intersected hydrothermal alteration and sulphides. Assay results are pending.

What comes next for Resouro
The company now awaits the grant of the Mining Concession, which will authorise long-term commercial mining once approved. Pending Mineiro assay results will be released once verified by a Qualified Person. Novo Mundo sits alongside Resouro’s flagship Tiros Titanium and Rare Earth Elements Project, which comprises 28 concessions totalling 497 km² in Minas Gerais. This reinforces a diversified development pipeline across two high-value commodities. Steady execution of the permitting strategy positions Novo Mundo as a potential future cash generator, subject to concession grant and drilling outcomes.
