Matt Syme, Executive Director, Odyssey Gold
“The Cable-Bollard-Highway structure continues to demonstrate the potential of a single, continuous mineral system comprised of multiple parallel lodes. Infill drilling is successfully identifying additional parallel structures, and continues to define high-grade shoots, while extensional drilling is joining structures in one pit to the next. As drilling progresses, we see the potential for a continuous open pit extending over 1.8 kilometres in strike from Cable to Highway.”
“We have established a clear pipeline of targets to drive resource growth and are planning to remobilise an RC rig shortly to that end.”
What is an RC infill drilling programme — and why does it matter here?
Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling is a fast, cost-effective method that forces compressed air through a drill string to bring rock chip samples to the surface, where they are collected and analysed for grade. It is the standard workhorse technique in Australian gold exploration.
Infill drilling means drilling new holes between existing ones. The goal is to increase confidence in the grade and geometry of a known mineralised zone, rather than to find something entirely new. This distinction matters for investors because infill drilling is the mechanism that upgrades Inferred Resources to Indicated Resources — and that classification step is required before a company can declare Ore Reserves and advance to a Feasibility Study.
Earlier Tuckanarra drilling results established the foundational intercepts that the current infill programme is now building on, with the Cable West Hangingwall lode continuity in particular reflecting a pattern of progressive resource definition across the corridor.
At Tuckanarra, the completed 20,000m programme feeds directly into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate, making that update a tangible near-term catalyst. The confirmation of multiple parallel lodes across approximately 1.8km of strike also adds strategic depth. A system with several lodes spread over a long corridor is more resilient — and potentially more valuable — than a single narrow vein, because it offers more optionality for mine planning and resource growth.
High gold recoveries reinforce processing economics
Preliminary metallurgical testwork has been completed on fresh rock samples from the Cable–Bollard–Highway deposits, conducted by ALS Metallurgical Laboratories under the supervision of Lee Richardson, Principal Metallurgist of Upside Metallurgy.
Three composite types were tested, reflecting the styles of mineralisation expected in fresh rock: quartz vein, mixed sulphide-quartz vein, and high sulphide. At a 106 micron grind size after 48 hours, recovery results were as follows:
- Quartz vein: up to 99.0% gold recovery
- Mixed sulphide-quartz vein: 97.1% gold recovery
- High sulphide: 86.6% gold recovery
Cyanide consumption was low at ≤0.20 kg/t across all composites, and lime consumption was low at ≤0.39 kg/t for the quartz vein and mixed composites. The lower recovery figure for the high sulphide composite is worth contextualising: high sulphide mineralisation represents less than 14% of the resource falling within conceptual optimisations.
The announcement confirmed that metallurgical recoveries exceed those required to support the cut-off grades underpinning the published Mineral Resource Estimate for Cable and Bollard. For investors, strong recoveries across the dominant ore types support the economic assumptions that underpin the project’s resource base.

Resource base and growth pipeline
The Tuckanarra Project’s current Mineral Resource stands at 6.3Mt @ 2.2g/t Au for 451,000oz Au (July 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate). The resource spans multiple deposits across the project:
- Cable: 2.75Mt @ 1.8g/t Au for 158koz
- Highway: 0.79Mt @ 3.8g/t Au for 97koz
- Bollard: 0.68Mt @ 2.1g/t Au for 46koz
- Kohinoor: 0.19Mt @ 3.5g/t Au for 22koz
- Additional deposits include Bottle Dump, Anchor, Maybelle, and Lucknow, contributing to the published grand total.
The growth pipeline is substantial. The approximately 1,100m Cable West–Bollard West corridor remains sparsely drilled, with multiple prospective lode positions identified across favourable stratigraphy and historical bedrock intercepts. Odyssey has stated that RC rig remobilisation is planned shortly to continue extensional drilling in this corridor.
With 12 diamond core holes (2,040m) still awaiting assay results, investors should expect additional newsflow as the company works toward incorporating all current drilling into the updated Mineral Resource Estimate and advancing its mining studies.
