OD6 Metals has reported high-grade gold assays from sampling at its Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, with results including 6.31g/t Au, 2.74g/t Au, 2.23g/t Au and 1.61g/t Au, along with multiple additional samples above 0.5g/t Au. The gold anomalism was identified during exploration originally targeting fluorspar, with no prior modern gold exploration previously conducted at Quinn.
The discovery adds a compelling new dimension to the project, located approximately 220km north of Las Vegas in Nevada — ranked second globally in the Fraser Institute 2025 Mining Attractiveness Index. Importantly, the gold mineralisation appears separate from the fluorspar, preserving the quality of the fluorspar deposits whilst opening another avenue for value creation. The Company’s primary objective remains developing what management believes could become one of the United States’ most significant fluorspar projects.

Gold assays and soil anomalies point to a large fertile system
High-grade gold results at Mammoth are associated with a stockwork vein system to the west (footwall) of the main fluorspar breccia zone, indicating an anomalous zone at least 50m x 50m but remaining open to the south, north and west. Gold in soils at Mammoth reached up to 30ppb Au, whilst a separate western zone returned up to 24ppb Au with epithermal pathfinder elements arsenic (66ppm As) and mercury (0.51ppm Hg) highly anomalous directly beneath a quartz-rich silica zone.
Extensive gold and pathfinder element anomalies have been identified across the broader project area, including North Horseshoe Canyon and Dress Circle, pointing to a large prospective footprint. The gold appears separate from the fluorspar, a critical distinction that preserves fluorspar deposit quality whilst opening a new avenue for value.

Soil and pathfinder anomalies build the picture
The broader soil geochemistry programme has identified extensive gold and pathfinder anomalism across multiple target areas:
- Mammoth: Gold in soils up to 30ppb, with a separate western zone up to 24ppb Au accompanied by epithermal pathfinder elements arsenic (66ppm) and mercury (0.51ppm).
- North Horseshoe Canyon: Five samples returned >20ppb Au, with results up to 44ppb Au, coincident with highly anomalous arsenic (up to 111ppm) and mercury (up to 0.91ppm).
- Dress Circle: A soil anomaly spanning approximately 400m x 150m with samples up to 77ppb Au, supported by strong arsenic (500–1,650ppm) and mercury (up to 0.37ppm) anomalism.
The Company utilised principal component analysis (PCA) to develop an “Au-PC1” score — a statistical method combining gold with epithermal pathfinder elements tellurium, arsenic, mercury, thallium, antimony, molybdenum and selenium into a single ranking score. A high Au-PC1 score flags soil enriched in this entire “fingerprint” of epithermal gold-related elements simultaneously, giving the Company a tool to rank prospective ground and pinpoint where gold may be hidden beneath the surface.
Why Nevada’s fluorspar-gold link matters
In Nevada, large fluorspar systems and world-class gold deposits often co-occur because both stem from the same highly evolved acidic magmatic heat source. This geological relationship is evident at several major Nevada districts and adds significant strategic context to Quinn’s prospectivity.
The Quinn Project now displays two distinct gold target styles, each with substantial precedent in Nevada:
Epithermal Gold: Quinn sits within the trans-state Walker Lane epithermal trend, characterised by a >8km-long epithermal footprint generated by Tertiary volcanism and intrusions. The regional geological setting includes northwest-southeast transform structures — the same potential corridor indicated by regional USGS gravity data that links to major deposits.
Carlin Style Gold: The project shares comparable stratigraphy with Carlin-style deposits, specifically the key host rocks Simonson Dolomite and Pogonip Group Limestones. Gold at Quinn is associated with jasperoid and aquitards, analogous to the Carlin Trend. The Saw Mill Thrust, a key pre-Tertiary low-angle thrust fault, is potentially analogous to the Roberts Mountain Thrust — a critical control on deposits along the Carlin and Battle Mountain–Eureka (Cortez) Trends.
Quinn’s geological setting draws direct comparison to several highly endowed Nevada districts:
- Round Mountain (Kinross): >15Moz Au epithermal gold deposit with proximal fluorspar occurrences
- Beatty District (AngloGold Ashanti): ~14Moz Au, including the historic Daisy Fluorspar Mine located proximal to gold discoveries
- Carlin Trend: >110Moz Au resource
- Battle Mountain–Eureka Trend: >50Moz Au resource
The co-location of fluorspar and gold in these large epithermal systems indicates a highly evolved acidic magmatic heat source — the same geological environment now identified at Quinn. This positioning offers shareholders exposure to potential upside beyond the Company’s core fluorspar strategy, whilst the separation of gold and fluorspar mineralisation preserves deposit quality in both commodities.

OD6 remains primarily focused on drilling and advancing the defined fluorspar prospects at Mammoth, Horseshoe and Big Jim, whilst progressing North Horseshoe, Blue Bell and other regional targets. Fluorspar is a US Critical Mineral — the United States is currently 100% reliant on imports of fluorspar, highlighting the strategic importance of domestic supply. Applications include battery technologies, AI chip manufacture, nuclear fuels industry, aerospace and defence technologies.
The Quinn Project is located approximately 300km by road from the US Strategic Minerals Reserve at Hawthorne, Nevada, positioning the Company to potentially supply a strategically critical commodity to domestic markets.
