Li-FT Power Launches 38,970m Drill Campaign to Grow Québec Lithium Resource
Li-FT Power commences 38,970m drilling campaign at Adina-Galinée Lithium Project
Li-FT Power has commenced exploration activities at the Adina-Galinée Lithium Project in Québec, Canada, marking the first exploration programme on the pegmatite complex under single ownership following district consolidation. The company has launched a programme comprising 163 diamond drill holes totalling 38,970m of planned drilling, designed to advance the current Mineral Resource Estimate through infill and expansion drilling. The programme will test mineralisation to depths of up to 400m below surface, with drill sections spaced 50m apart in plan view and pierce points approximately 75m apart on section.
The scale of the programme demonstrates committed capital deployment toward resource growth, with drilling designed to both expand and de-risk the existing resource base. The consolidation of the district through the acquisition of Winsome Resources Limited and agreements with Azimut Exploration Inc. and SOQUEM Inc. in 2026 has enabled Li-FT Power to approach the project as one contiguous geological system rather than fragmented tenements.

What is spodumene pegmatite and why does it matter?
Spodumene pegmatite is a coarse-grained igneous rock containing spodumene, a lithium-bearing mineral used in the production of lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate for battery manufacturing. Québec’s Eeyou Istchee James Bay region hosts multiple significant spodumene pegmatite deposits, making it an established lithium mining jurisdiction. Consolidated land positions matter because they allow systematic exploration of geological systems rather than fragmented approaches limited by multiple ownership boundaries.
Hard rock lithium assets in stable jurisdictions such as Canada are increasingly valued by downstream battery manufacturers seeking secure, long-term supply chains. The ability to explore and develop a pegmatite complex under unified ownership reduces coordination risk and enables integrated resource development planning.
Surface exploration targets next-generation discoveries
Alongside the drilling programme, Li-FT Power is conducting surface exploration across the Adina-Galinée project comprising approximately 680 till samples, prospecting, and geological mapping across 5,400 hectares. The objective is to identify additional spodumene pegmatite occurrences and generate brownfield exploration targets. Four additional Québec properties will receive surface work in 2026: Cancet, Tilly, Sirmac-Clapier, and Nottaway, ranging from advanced to early-stage exploration projects.
| Project | Till Samples | Rock Samples | Mapping Area (ha) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adina-Galinée | 680 | 200 | 5,432 |
| Cancet | 704 | 150 | 10,346 |
| Nottaway | 288 | 10-20 | 155 |
| Sirmac-Clapier | 1,672 | 50 | 422 |
| Tilly | — | 25 | — |
| Total | 1,672 | 425 | 16,355 |
The multi-property surface programme demonstrates a pipeline approach to exploration, advancing known assets while generating future drill targets across the broader portfolio.
District consolidation unlocks systematic exploration
Li-FT Power assembled the Adina-Galinée Lithium Project through the acquisition of Winsome Resources Limited and agreements with Azimut Exploration Inc. and SOQUEM Inc. in 2026, resulting in a consolidated land position across the spodumene pegmatite complex. The Galinée portion is held 75% Li-FT Power / 25% SOQUEM. The consolidation enables the project to be explored as one contiguous system rather than across fragmented tenements, removing coordination risk between multiple landholders and allowing integrated resource development.
Francis MacDonald, President & CEO, Li-FT Power
“The commencement of drilling at Adina-Galinée marks the first exploration program on this pegmatite complex under single ownership. Having consolidated the district through the Winsome acquisition and our agreements with Azimut and SOQUEM, we can now approach Adina-Galinée the way it should be explored, as one contiguous system. With nearly 39,000 m of drilling planned, this program is designed to both grow and de-risk the current resource, while our surface programs across Cancet, Tilly, Sirmac-Clapier, and Nottaway work to surface the next generation of targets in Québec.”
The ability to plan and execute exploration programmes without coordination constraints allows for more efficient capital deployment and integrated geological interpretation across the entire system.
Broader Québec and Northwest Territories portfolio
Li-FT Power operates a dual-jurisdiction strategy with core development assets in both Québec and the Northwest Territories. The company owns the Yellowknife Lithium Project in the Northwest Territories as its other core asset, alongside early-stage exploration properties in both jurisdictions. This diversified Canadian asset base reduces single-project concentration risk whilst maintaining exposure to established lithium mining jurisdictions.

What comes next for Li-FT Power investors
Near-term catalysts centre on drilling results from the 163-hole, 38,970m programme at Adina-Galinée, designed to both grow and de-risk the current resource. Surface exploration results across the five Québec properties will inform future drill target prioritisation. Upcoming milestones include:
- Drilling results from Adina-Galinée infill and expansion programme
- Till sampling and mapping results across Cancet, Tilly, Sirmac-Clapier, and Nottaway
- Updated Mineral Resource Estimate following drilling completion (timing not specified in announcement)
The commencement of the drilling programme provides a clear line of sight to newsflow catalysts, with 38,970m of drilling across the consolidated pegmatite complex representing the first systematic exploration programme under unified ownership. The surface exploration programme totalling 1,672 till samples and 425 rock samples across 16,355 hectares aims to generate the next generation of drill targets across the broader Québec portfolio.
