Great Western Eyes Six-Target Pipeline as Juggernaut Results Land August-September
Great Western stays disciplined at Yerrida North as focus shifts to imminent Juggernaut and Baroo results
Great Western Exploration has completed first-pass air core drilling at the Diorama target within its Yerrida North Copper-Gold Project, with no significant copper or gold results returned. The outcome reflects the Company’s low-cost “test and move on” exploration strategy, preserving capital for a higher-priority pipeline. Assays from six copper-gold targets at Juggernaut and Baroo are expected August–September 2026, with the Company maintaining a strong balance sheet of $3.4M cash at the end of June 2026.

What the Diorama drilling found
Great Western completed 60 air core drill-holes for 2,200m at Diorama, designed to test a surface lag copper anomaly and gossanous quartz outcrop. No significant copper-gold results were returned. Minor elevated assays were attributed to weathering enrichment, consistent with previously reported rock-chip results (GTE ASX Announcement 2 February 2026). This was the maiden and first-pass air core programme at Diorama.
Diorama Assay Snapshot
| Element | Min | Max | Typical Mean (ppm) | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold (Au) | Below Detection | 93 ppb | 1–6 ppb | No significant Au |
| Copper (Cu) | 3 ppm | 418 ppm | 30–190 ppm | No significant Cu |
| Zinc (Zn) | Below Detection | 1,160 ppm | 60–260 ppm | Weathering-related only |
| Lead (Pb) | 0.3 ppm | 307 ppm | 5–70 ppm | Weathering-related only |
These ranges reflect weathering-related enrichment only. No further work is planned at Diorama.
The real story — a six-target pipeline with results weeks away
Juggernaut and Baroo represent Great Western’s priority assets and near-term catalysts. Drilling recently completed at six copper-gold targets across Juggernaut and Baroo (GTE ASX Announcement 16 July 2026), with assays expected August–September 2026. Earlier RC drilling confirmed geology consistent with a VHMS system (16 July 2026 release). Depending on assays, Great Western intends to conduct follow-up drilling at Juggernaut and Baroo, plus advance several regional targets to drill-ready status. Yerrida North sits ~70km from Sandfire Resources’ (ASX: SFR) DeGrussa Copper-Gold Deposit. The Yerrida Basin is adjacent to the Bryah Basin, which hosts the DeGrussa and Monty VHMS deposits.

Understanding VHMS exploration — why the pipeline matters
A VHMS (Volcanic-Hosted Massive Sulphide) deposit forms when metal-rich fluids are expelled onto the seafloor in ancient volcanic settings, creating zones of high-grade copper-gold-zinc mineralisation. Proximity to DeGrussa and Monty is geologically significant because these deposits confirm the Bryah-Yerrida region hosts the right volcanic and sedimentary conditions for VHMS formation. Air core drilling is a low-cost first-pass tool to screen targets before committing to expensive deeper drilling. Walking away from Diorama is a positive signal — capital is preserved for the highest-ranked targets.
Shane Pike, Managing Director
“We have a firm policy of identifying and refining targets, followed by low-cost preliminary drilling. If significant results are not returned at this stage, we move on. This strategy, which is driven by science and financial returns, maximises our ability to create substantial value through green-fields exploration.”

Financial position and what investors should watch
Great Western held $3.4M cash at the end of June 2026, funding the active drilling programme and pipeline advancement. The investment case centres on disciplined capital allocation, a funded multi-target pipeline, a tier-one address near DeGrussa, and imminent August–September catalysts. Results from Juggernaut and Baroo are the next value inflection point for Great Western.
