Ballymore Hits 16m of Shallow Silver at Torpy’s as Nearby Holes Await Assays
Key Takeaways
- BTPRC022 returned 16m at 36.5 g/t silver, 1.3% lead, 2.4% zinc and 2.5 g/t indium from just 12m, following earlier drilling that extended mineralisation about 30m up-dip.
- BTPRC023 hit a deeper silver-rich zone of 11m at 49.1 g/t from 54m, including 3m at 162.7 g/t, beneath the area tested by earlier drilling.
- True widths may be up to 50% less than the reported downhole intercepts, and the other deep holes were patchy, with BTPRC026 returning just 9m at 1.4 g/t silver.
- Little Torpy's assays from BTPRC027 to BTPRC031, 600m south, are due in October 2026, with visual galena and sphalerite logged in BTPRC030 and BTPRC031 but not yet confirmed by lab results.
- Ballymore's updated 3D model flags sub-parallel zones east, west and up-dip of the main target, with a drone magnetic survey in October, a Dittmer bulk sample in Q4 2026 and a Stage 6 drill program in Q1 2027.
Torpy’s drilling returns 16m at 36.5 g/t silver from just 12m
Ballymore Resources (ASX: BMR) has reported final assays from reverse circulation (RC) holes BTPRC022 to BTPRC026 at the Torpy’s discovery, part of the Ruddygore Project in North Queensland. The headline result is another shallow silver-lead-zinc intersection.
BTPRC022 returned 16m at 36.5 g/t silver (Ag), 1.3% lead (Pb), 2.4% zinc (Zn) and 2.5 g/t indium (In) from 12m downhole. Shallow mineralisation can point to simpler follow-up drilling, and the result follows earlier drilling that extended mineralisation approximately 30m up-dip.
Managing Director David A-Izzeddin said the results add geological information to guide exploration:

High-grade intervals and deeper silver-rich zones
The shallow hole contained several standout sub-intervals, while deeper holes were more mixed. Here is how the numbers break down.
Shallow standouts in BTPRC022
Within the broader 16m intersection, the company reported these higher-grade zones:
- 5m at 61.0 g/t Ag from 12m
- 1m at 207.7 g/t Ag, 9.9% Pb, 12.5% Zn and 5.3 g/t In from 16m
- 2m at 105.9 g/t Ag, 3.8% Pb, 9.6% Zn and 14.5 g/t In from 21m
The company said further geological interpretation is required to establish the relationship between this intersection, the historic mine workings and mineralisation identified in previous drilling.
Deeper results
BTPRC023 intersected a silver-rich interval beneath the area tested by earlier drilling. The figures below come from the announcement’s drilling highlights table.
| Hole | From (m) | Interval | Ag g/t | Pb % / Zn % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTPRC022 | 12 | 16m | 36.5 | 1.31 / 2.38 |
| BTPRC023 | 54 | 11m | 49.1 | 1.06 / 0.74 |
| BTPRC023 (including) | 55 | 4m | 127.1 | 2.61 / 1.52 |
| BTPRC023 (including) | 55 | 3m | 162.7 | 3.26 / 1.75 |
| BTPRC024 | 87 | 9m | 14.6 | 0.44 / 0.28 |
Results from the other deeper holes were more variable. BTPRC025 returned isolated, lower-grade intervals, and BTPRC026 returned 9m at 1.4 g/t Ag from 84m.
For investors, that spread matters. The best grades are concentrated in specific zones rather than spread evenly, which is why the company says further drilling is needed to establish continuity.
All intercepts are downhole widths, not true widths. True widths may be up to 50% less than drill intersections, pending confirmation of mineralisation geometry.
What a 3D model means for explorers
A 3D geological model combines drill data and geophysics into a single picture of what lies underground. Explorers use it to decide where to drill next.
Ballymore built its updated model from drill hole lithology, alteration, visual estimates of mineralisation, the latest assays from BTPRC022 to BTPRC026 and modelled geophysics datasets. It highlights higher-grade silver-bearing shoots (narrower, richer zones) within a broader envelope of lower-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralisation.
The model also identifies several sub-parallel zones to the east, west and up-dip of the main mineralised zone. The company said these may represent peripheral intersections of separate mineralised shoots.
What this tells you is that the model is a targeting tool, not a confirmation. Further drilling will be required to determine the geometry, continuity and relationship of these zones to the principal mineralised zone.

Little Torpy’s assays and next steps
Attention now shifts to a second area, with assays still to come.
Pending catalyst, 600m south
Assay results are outstanding for five RC holes, BTPRC027 to BTPRC031, drilled approximately 600m south of Torpy’s at Little Torpy’s. Several recorded visual galena (a lead mineral) and sphalerite (a zinc mineral) during drilling:
- BTPRC030: 22m containing 4% galena and 5% sphalerite from 34m
- BTPRC031: 10m containing 6% galena and 8% sphalerite from 66m
These visual estimates are preliminary geological observations and should not be considered a substitute for laboratory assays or as an indication of actual metal grades.
Planned activities
The company listed the following planned work:
- October 2026: receive remaining Little Torpy’s drill assay results
- October 2026: model final Ruddygore gravity data
- October 2026: model final Dittmer MT survey data
- October 2026: commence Torpy’s drone magnetic survey
- Q4 2026: Dittmer bulk sample recovery
- Q1 2027: complete development of the upgraded 4 level access at Dittmer
- Q1 2027: commence Stage 6 drill program from the newly developed southern exploration drive
Ballymore is also progressing preparations for further drilling before the end of 2026, subject to final target selection and operational planning.
The Ruddygore Project covers 556km² adjacent to Chillagoe, approximately 150km west of Cairns. The company said large areas remain poorly explored by modern exploration methods.
