Iltani Achieves 13x Upgrade in Silver-Indium Ore Sorting Tests at Orient Project

Iltani Resources (ASX: ILT) has reported fresh assay results from its ongoing 110-hole reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Herberton, North Queensland. The Iltani Resources high grade silver at Orient East drill results cover holes ORR160 to ORR164 and ORR166, indicating that high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation is continuous, wide, and in places exceptionally rich.
According to the announcement, the standout result comes from ORR164, which intercepted two separate zones of high-grade massive sulphide mineralisation, both shallow enough to be relevant to open-pit mining studies. The best single-metre interval returned 1 metre at 398 g/t silver, 59 g/t indium, 8.4% lead and 19.1% zinc (1,683 g/t silver equivalent) from 58 metres downhole.
With 81 of the planned 110 RC holes now completed, representing 15,485 metres drilled, and assay results pending from multiple additional holes, the company appears positioned for a sustained flow of drilling news over coming months.
The four Orient East holes covered in this release — ORR160, ORR162, ORR164 and ORR166 — were drilled on 40 metre section spacings through the central portion of the existing Mineral Resource. The breadth and grade of these intercepts — particularly the dual-zone structure in ORR164 and the massive sulphide cores in both ORR164 and ORR166 — provide a strong signal regarding the scale and continuity of the mineralised system at Orient East.
ORR164 is the result likely to draw the most investor scrutiny from this release. Drilled on Orient East Section 308800E alongside ORR160 and ORR162, it intercepted two broad, high-grade zones of mineralisation separated by a gap at depth.

According to the announcement, the mineralisation in ORR164 remains open down-dip, and the company has already planned a follow-up drill hole to test this extension target. This open-ended geometry suggests the full extent of the system has not yet been defined by drilling.

The Ag Eq. metric allows for comparison between intercepts and projects with different metal mixes. It also means an intercept such as ORR164's best result — which may look modest on silver content alone — becomes substantially more significant once lead, zinc and indium contributions are included.
Indium is a critical mineral used in semiconductor manufacturing and display screens, and Orient is described by the company as hosting one of the more notable indium endowments identified in Australia.
While the Orient East results dominate this release, results from Orient West holes ORR161 and ORR163 also returned consistent multi-zone mineralisation. The holes were drilled on Orient West Section 30, targeting an area of shallow mineralisation northeast of the established high-grade core.

Grades here are lower than at Orient East but are consistent with the broader Orient West resource profile. Furthermore, according to the announcement, recent test work has indicated that ore sorting may be a viable option to upgrade lower-tenor mineralisation, potentially making these broad shallow zones commercially relevant as part of a future open-pit operation.
The drilling program is continuing. With 29 holes still to be completed from the 110-hole program, and assay results pending from a large number of already-completed holes, the company is entering a period expected to generate substantial additional data.
