Gold Hydrogen Readies Ramsay 1 for Helium Flow Testing After Equipment Fix
Gold Hydrogen prepares Ramsay 1 for helium flow testing after equipment fix
Gold Hydrogen (ASX: GHY) has readied the Ramsay 1 well for its planned flow testing programme, with testing expected to commence imminently. The company announced on 23 July 2026 that testing equipment damaged during transport to site has been repaired, tested, mobilised and installed, with SWS Rig 04 now onsite and the well fully prepared for the evaluation campaign.
The programme encountered a short delay due to the equipment damage, but Gold Hydrogen has now resolved the issue and positioned itself to move from preparation to active evaluation of its helium-bearing reservoirs — a key operational milestone for the Ramsay Project.

What the testing programme will evaluate
The testing campaign at Ramsay 1 is focussed on the evaluation of the Ramsay Project Helium-bearing reservoirs. As part of this testing programme, the company will also be undertaking isotopic analysis for both Helium and Helium-3 concentrations in collaboration with CSIRO and Oxford University.
The testing scope includes:
- Flow testing of Ramsay 1 helium-bearing reservoirs
- Isotopic analysis of Helium concentrations (with CSIRO and Oxford University)
- Isotopic analysis of Helium-3 concentrations (with CSIRO and Oxford University)
The company has cautioned that the commencement of testing does not guarantee the presence of commercially recoverable Helium or Helium-3. Results will be assessed following completion of the testing programme and will be announced in accordance with the company’s continuous disclosure obligations.

What investors should watch next
Managing Director Neil McDonald
“Whilst some equipment damaged during transport, and resulted in a short delay to our testing schedule, we are pleased that all equipment is now on site and commissioned. We look forward to commencing testing at Ramsay 1 imminently and will keep shareholders informed as the programme advances.”
The near-term catalyst pathway centres on the commencement of flow testing, followed by isotopic analysis and results assessment. Gold Hydrogen will provide market updates as the testing programme progresses and results become available.
| Milestone | Status |
|---|---|
| Testing equipment repaired & installed | Complete |
| SWS Rig 04 onsite | Complete |
| Well preparation | Complete |
| Flow testing commencement | Imminent |
| Isotopic results (Helium / Helium-3) | Pending |
The roadmap for the next phase includes:
- Commence flow testing at Ramsay 1
- Conduct isotopic analysis with CSIRO and Oxford University
- Assess results following programme completion
- Announce results per continuous disclosure obligations
Gold Hydrogen has emphasised it will keep the market updated as the programme progresses. Investors should note that the commencement of testing does not guarantee commercially recoverable helium, and the value proposition remains contingent on the testing programme demonstrating viable concentrations and flow characteristics.
