12 copper-gold prospects identified across Block 22B

Alara Resources (ASX: AUQ) has identified 12 copper-gold prospect areas across Block 22B and the adjoining Al Wash-hi Mullaq licence area. The work was carried out through its joint venture company Al Hadeetha Mining LLC (AHML), in which Alara holds a 27.5% interest.

The tally covers 10 newly generated prospects (22B-T01 to 22B-T10), plus WH02 and WH03. A further 5 conceptual, unvalidated MQ magnetic anomalies have been carried forward, but they are not counted as prospects.

For Block 22B copper-gold exploration, the survey side has also moved. The HeliTEM airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey was completed on 4 July 2026, with 6,132 line-km flown across the 1,448 km² concession.

AHML has held the concession since the agreement was signed in January 2025 and ratified by Royal Decree in March 2025. It sits around Izki in central Oman, within the Semail Ophiolite belt, which hosts Alara’s operating Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Gold mine.

For investors, that means a pipeline of early-stage targets sitting beside an operating mine. It is a pipeline, not a resource, and the sections below explain the difference.

Rock-chip results show up to 2.27% copper

Peak results at 22B-T05 and 22B-T04

Rock-chip sampling at 22B-T05 returned a peak natural value of 22,681 ppm Cu (2.27% Cu), from sample 22B26T5RC01063. The sample came from mapped cumulate layered gabbro with malachite, a green copper-bearing mineral.

At 22B-T04, the peak was 15,546 ppm Cu, also associated with visible malachite. In total, 589 systematic rock-chip samples were collected across the three areas covered by detailed field work.

Peak In Situ Copper Rock-Chip Results

Sampled Area Samples Collected Samples ≥ Cu and/or Au Threshold Peak In Situ Rock Cu (ppm)
WH02–WH03 Corridor **114** **9** **2,922**
22B-T04 **163** **13** **15,546**
22B-T05 **312** **23** **22,681**

The “above-threshold” count uses a statistical screen: the 95th percentile of each area’s own Cu and Au results. These are screening thresholds only, not economic or resource cut-off grades.

Caution on the numbers

Rock-chip sampling is selective, so the results are not necessarily representative of the average grade, thickness or continuity of mineralisation across any target. A single high reading tells you where to look next, not what a deposit contains.

Two slag samples at the WH02–WH03 corridor returned 10,812 ppm and 21,679 ppm Cu. Slag is historical smelting waste, so these are anthropogenic and are excluded from the headline figures.

Elevated copper values also came from opportunistic, reconnaissance-level sampling at 22B-T03, 22B-T06, and 22B-T08 to 22B-T10. These were collected during concession-wide traversing, not systematic sampling.

How copper-gold targets are generated and ranked

What is a prospect, and what is VMS mineralisation?

A prospect is an area where geology, chemistry or geophysics suggest copper-gold mineralisation might exist. A Mineral Resource is far more advanced: a defined concentration of minerals with reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. Nothing in this update is a Mineral Resource.

VMS stands for volcanogenic massive sulphide. The company describes the Semail Ophiolite belt as a proven host to VMS-style copper mineralisation.

Structural corridors within the Sheeted Dyke Complex, a recognised host sequence for Cyprus-style VMS mineralisation, are favoured. So are intersections of NW-SE and NE-SW structures, which are interpreted as potential hydrothermal fluid-focusing zones. The takeaway: these are early-stage vectors pointing towards targets, not proof of anything economic.

Staged methodology

Alara described a staged, multi-disciplinary approach:

  1. Desktop studies of historical reports, maps and datasets (completed).
  2. Remote sensing and GIS interpretation (completed; interpretations remain preliminary).
  3. Ground reconnaissance across 220 traverse points, confirming approximately 180 gossans, approximately 178 ancient quarries and approximately 80 slag sites.
  4. Detailed mapping and rock-chip sampling at 22B-T04, 22B-T05 and the WH02–WH03 corridor.
  5. The HeliTEM airborne survey across the full concession.

No prospect has yet been ranked. The preliminary ranking of eight early-stage targets referred to in the June 2026 quarterly report has been superseded.

Field verification is complete only at 22B-T04, 22B-T05 and the WH02–WH03 corridor. The company intends to rank prospects once field verification is finished across all of them.

WH02 and WH03

WH02 and WH03 were originally reported as JORC (2012) Exploration Targets in October 2014 (as WHT-2 and WHT-3). They are reproduced without change and are not new estimates.

Target Approx. Size Tonnage Range Copper Grade Range Gold Grade Range
WH02 (WHT-2) ~1,300m x 1,400m **2.5 – 7.5 Mt** **0.9 – 1.1% Cu** **0.1 – 0.3 g/t Au**
WH03 (WHT-3) ~1,500m x 230m **0.5 – 1 Mt** **1.0 – 3.0% Cu** **0.1 – 1.0 g/t Au**

The potential quantity and grade of an Exploration Target is conceptual in nature. There has been insufficient exploration to determine a Mineral Resource, and there is no certainty that further exploration will result in the determination of a Mineral Resource.

Next steps and HeliTEM timeline

The HeliTEM interpretation report is expected in FY27 Q2. Total survey coverage was slightly below the planned line-km due to exclusion zones around populated areas and operational constraints associated with seasonal temperatures. No material new geophysical results are available yet.

The survey is described as the first modern airborne electromagnetic dataset covering the entire Block 22B concession.

Planned activities, which may include the following, are subject to results and approvals:

  • Mapping and sampling of the remaining eight prospects (22B-T01, T02, T03, T06, T07, T08, T09 and T10).
  • Ranking of validated prospects once field verification is complete.
  • Ground-based IP and/or EM or resistivity surveys, where justified.
  • Infill rock-chip and soil sampling at approximately 50 m spacing.
  • Limited shallow pitting or trenching where appropriate.
  • Scout drilling at targets that continue to be supported by converging exploration vectors, subject to results and approvals.

The company currently anticipates completing field verification of all identified prospects, and an initial integrated ranking, in 2027, subject to field access, approvals, receipt and interpretation of the HeliTEM dataset, and technical outcomes.

AHML’s participating interests are:

  • Alara Oman Operations Pty Ltd (100% owned by Alara Resources Limited): 27.5%
  • Al Hadeetha Investments Services LLC: 27.5%
  • Al Tasnim Mining LLC: 27.5%
  • Southwest Pinnacle Exploration LLC: 17.5%

The company states that progression between stages will be results-dependent and that not all targets will necessarily progress through all stages. For you as an investor, that defines the path: a staged, results-dependent set of catalysts beside an operating mine, with each step needing to earn the next.
