Gold mineralisation at Behring Bore is hosted within the upper portion of an altered, pyritic quartz dolerite. Dolerite is an intrusive rock (solidified magma) that is a recognised host rock for significant gold mineralisation across Western Australia. At Behring Bore, a consistent correlation has been observed between higher-grade gold and increased alteration and sulphide intensity within the dolerite. In plain terms, the parts of the rock that have been most chemically changed and mineralised are also the parts carrying the highest gold grades. This gives the company a geological vector, meaning a reliable physical indicator that can guide where to drill next, rather than targeting broad areas and hoping for the best.
What “open along strike and at depth” means for investors
When geologists say mineralisation is “open,” they mean drilling has not yet found the edges of the gold-bearing zone. The system continues beyond the last hole drilled. At Coodardy, mineralisation is now defined over approximately 500m of strike (the horizontal length along which gold has been confirmed), yet the northeast-trending high-grade shoot remains substantially underdrilled, with the trend open to the north and south. At Behring Bore, the mineralised dolerite unit is open to the north, south, and east, with multiple drill lines ending in mineralisation rather than passing through it. For an early-stage explorer, “open” is exactly the word you want to see — it means the known system has room to expand with further drilling.
